Mehendi Night

Mehendi Night

Mehendi Night

My beautiful neighbours’ adult children were getting married, and because they are of Fijian Indian descent, there was a party to be had, not just A party, but days filled with celebrations!

There was a special ceremony held where they dug up some soil and buried flower petals and a mix of herbs and spices. It was really beautiful to watch, as it isn’t often that we get to see another culture go into their ceremonial rituals.

During the Mehendi night was some Henna tattooing. The lady they hired, did a spectacular job and some beautiful designs.

Another ritual was dancing with money before placing it into a basket for the couple.

5 wonderful days filled with food, rituals, music with beautifully coloured sari’s and surrounded by family. What an amazing way to lead up to the wedding celebration!
